Lt Gen (Ret) Frank G. Klotz, Senior RAND fellow and former Under Secretary of Energy for Nuclear Security, joins the Mitchell Institute for this virtual session of the Nuclear Deterrence Forum. Gen Klotz, the first operational commander of Global Strike and former head of the National Nuclear Security Administration, is an accomplished national security authority, particularly in the field nuclear deterrence. He will offer his insight into the decision over extending New START, the state of play of nuclear deterrence in great power competition, and the future of nuclear weapons programs in a world without New START.
