The Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies is pleased to announce that Lt Col Grant “SWAT” Georgulis has joined our team as an Air Force Senior Developmental Education Fellow for the 2024–2025 academic year. SWAT is a highly experienced Master Air Battle Manager with over 1,600 hours on the E-3B/C/G and E-767, accumulating over three combat deployments and one combat support deployment.

After Lt Col Georgulis entered the Air Force in 2007 through the ROTC program at Texas State University-San Marcos, he served on an air component staff, was an Air Force Weapons School instructor, and graduated from the Naval War College’s College of Naval Command and Staff and the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies. Before his current assignment, he was the Commander, 965 Airborne Air Control Squadron, Tinker Air Force Base, OK.

Lt Gen David Deptula, USAF (Ret.), Dean of the Mitchel Institute, shared, “We’re glad to have Lt Col Georgulis here. His experience from the air battle manager community adds to the wealth of expertise here at the Mitchell Institute. Over the next year our interaction together will help him better advocate for air and space power as a future Air Force leader.”
