The Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies is pleased to announce that Mr. Tim Ryan is joining our research and analysis team as a Senior Resident Fellow for Space Studies at the Mitchell Institute Space Power Advantage Center of Excellence (MI-SPACE). In this position he will focus on a range of issues addressing the critical areas of space power strategy, operational concepts, and technologies.
Tim is a retired United States Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and a Command Space Operator with expertise in Missile Warning, NRO, SATCOM, and ICBM operations. Tim most recently served as the Associate Director for Joint and National Security Council matters on the headquarters United Space Force staff. Prior to that, he served in numerous space command, NRO, NSA, Headquarters Air Force Space Command and office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff positions.
Lt Gen David Deptula, USAF (Ret.), Dean of the Mitchell Institute, commented, “Tim, with his operational understanding gained as the commander of the largest space operation squadron, and his recent expertise in Joint and National Security Council matters while serving on the headquarters U.S. Space Force staff, makes him a great addition to the Mitchell Institute Spacepower Advantage Center of Excellence.”
